Memo ("we", "our", "us") is a photo messaging app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Account info: Display name, username, and email address when you sign up.
- Photos and videos: Media you send and receive through the app. These are stored temporarily on our servers and deleted after they are viewed and reacted to.
- Device info: Push notification token to deliver notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for tracking.
- Location: City-level location (if you grant permission) displayed alongside sent photos. We do not track precise GPS coordinates.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Deliver photos and messages between you and your friends.
- Send push notifications for new photos, reactions, and friend requests.
- Display city names on sent photos (optional, requires location permission).
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud). Photos and videos are stored in Firebase Storage and metadata in Cloud Firestore. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your photos are only visible to the intended recipient.
5. Data Retention
- Sent photos and videos are retained for up to 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Account data is retained until you delete your account.
6. Your Rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings within the app. This permanently removes your profile, photos, and associated data.
7. Children's Privacy
Memo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
